39th International Students’ Conference for Dialogue between Jews, Christians and Muslims in Europe

Young, gifted and religious: What do we expect from our tradition and our society?

Religion is often written off as a spent force in Western secular society. At the same time we are witnessing a revival in many forms, from unquestioning fundamentalism to open-ended experimentation to interfaith dialogue. What future does a generation of religiously committed young people want to see? What questions and challenges do
they pose to their religious traditions? What is their contribution to the society that they will help to build?

The conference enables the encounter between the three Abrahamic religions in an unusually open and direct way.
The programme includes a range of opportunities for interpersonal exchanges, creative groups and lectures which throw light on the main theme from the three different perspectives. Encountering, experiencing and getting to know the three religions will be facilitated, for example, through celebrating worship in the different traditions. The background and liturgical elements will be explained in an understandable way.

Target group includes students and their teachers, as well as all those interested in, and actively committed to, dialogue between the three religions.

The languages used during the conference will be German and English.
