Maurice Michaels came to the rabbinate later in life following a successful career in industry. As student and since s’michah in 1996 he has served Harlow Jewish Community, Edgware & District Reform Synagogue and South West Essex & Settlement Reform Synagogue. His major interests have been in Education and Interfaith, in which he has made his main contribution to the local community. He has been teaching Practical Rabbinics at Leo Baeck College since 1998, utilising his knowledge and techniques of leadership and management to provide final year rabbinic students with the skills to survive congregational life.
