The Leo Baeck College needs your help to continue training rabbis and teachers for the future of Progressive Judaism. It is dependent on the wider Jewish community to support and enrich its work.

The success of the College lies in attracting students of the highest calibre for the Rabbinic programme. Students commit themselves to a rigorous five year postgraduate course and can only do so with adequate financial support.

There is a constant need for scholarships and bursaries to enable the training of student rabbis, who would otherwise not be able to afford to attend. These funds are needed to pay for their tuition fees and living expenses for five years.

Through its Department of Education and Professional Development, the Leo Baeck College is training a new cadre of teachers for our synagogues, youth movements and schools. Books, curriculum and Adult Learning material can be created and developed with the help of your support.

Guests at the 2004 Kaufmann event held at The Liberal Jewish SynagogueWe are particularly seeking people to become Friends and Patrons of Leo Baeck College, and there are also many other ways you can get involved. Your personal commitment to invest can make a real difference for the future of Progressive Judaism.

so I plant for my children”

The International Board of Patrons

College Reception May 2007In Jewish tradition there are 36 RIGHTEOUS PEOPLE in each generation, the lamed-vavniks, for whose sake the world continues. We are less ambitious but we do need 36 Patrons to help Leo Baeck College train the rabbis and teachers who will help build the Jewish worlds emerging throughout the new Europe.

We invite you to join a select group of Patrons who share our vision, and commit an annual sum for a four year period to maintain the Development Fund of the College. As a Patron – in addition to a variety of benefits – you are entitled to attend all public lectures, seminars and exhibitions held at the College as well as special Patrons only events.
